Sure…but
what's "La Route de Pepinster"?
"La
Route" (the Road) is a section developed by Les Scouts and the GCB (Catholics
Guides from Belgium).
"La
Route de Pepinster" is born from the actions of solidarity in the
operation "Villages Roumains" and was created by animators, scouts
& guides from the 15th unity Saint-Antoine (F.C.S.) and the 17th unity
Sainte-Monique (G.C.B.) from Pepinster. Our local, "La Casemate", is
born in 1995 after one year of work. We have celebrated
the 5th birthday in October 2000. Our group grows fast : we were 22 in
1999-2000 and now, we count now 32 members in the group…thus we see the future
with enthusiasm!
This
section involves animators and old-scouts who are more than 17. It allows
cooperation in the units from Pepinster and between-units cooperation, the
group is heterogeneous and the members come from different origins. The devise
of "La Route" is "To serve", that means that we don't meet
without goal, rather we provide help around us when we have this possibility…
Our perspective stay at the local level and we are a help particularly to the
parish and the Pepinster's units. We are involved in the realization of small
works that enhance the good-living of the children in the town … Some members
would like to create a Great Solidarity Project ("Grand Projet
solidarité" = GPS), the goal of the project would be to act at an upper
level (i. e. an action in a poor country in collaboration with a
non-governmental organization). It has not started at this time but it's a goal
to reach in long term…
We
join us together to take part in activities like hikes (see activities page),
mini-camps, raids, and games, which are organized for our own pleasure! We
provide help in the games organized by other sections (scouts, guides and
younger) from Pepinster and everywhere else. We meet all the Friday evening in
our local (the "Casemate"). Thus our goal is to evolve together,
every one participates and we are in a good ambiance in the respect of the
scout's traditions.
